Metallogist/Metallurgist - North West England

Our client has an immediate requirement for a Metallogist to work on a Major Defence Platform. The initial contract length will be 6 months but there is every chance that this will continue to extend.

Theoretical and Practical application of ferrous and non ferrous materials will need to be demonstrated, knowledge of Titanium will be a distinct advantage.

It is also expected that your commercial experience will include the following:

  • Materials Safety Assessments
  • Troubleshooting Consultancy
  • Fitness for Purpose evaluation
  • Failure Investigation
  • Corrosion evaluation
  • Evaluation of material properties
  • Alternative materials and specifications
  • Mechanical testing including Fracture Toughness, Tensile, Bend and Charpy Impact
  • Approval testing and evaluation to various Fabrication Codes.
