Senior Metallurgist - Bracknell or Staines UK

A rare opportunity has arisen to become part of an industry leading organisation servicing the oil and gas industry. Having recently been awarded two outstanding contracts, The Company is now seeking qualified, experienced Metallurgists who are ready for responsibility, eager for new challenges, and who genuinely desire to stretch to their full potential.

Reporting to senior management based in The Company’s Bracknell office, your primary responsibility will be the development and maintenance of materials specifications. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and maintaining Xdocuments, which may also require testing to validate the process and setting up a qualification file
  • Developing and maintaining Adocuments for coatings
  • Analysing coating and materials related failures
  • Research and develop of new materials and coatings
  • Provide laboratory services for evaluating materials and coatings
  • Developing and performing technical audits on new vendors for materials and special processes
  • Providing technical support to all Cameron organisations, customers and vendors in the areas of material and trim selection, heat treating, material properties, specification interpretation, materials processing, welding, etc.
  • Keeping abreast of latest technical developments and standards that impact the industry

Successful candidates will have:

  • Good Degree in Metallurgy/Metallurgical Engineering/Material Science or equivalent
  • Strong experience in a basic metal industry (steel mill, heat treatment, foundry, or forge shop)
  • Some experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Understanding of the applicable laws and regulations

The company’s official language is English, and candidates should be fluent to business standard, both written and spoken.
