Metallurgist/Failure Investigator - Liverpool UK

Brookes Bell is a major independent consultancy, providing expert advice to the shipping and insurance industries. They are currently seeking an established metallurgist expert to join their existing metallurgical department in Liverpool.

The position requires an experienced failure investigator specializing in fatigue/corrosion failure mechanisms typically of marine and industrial machinery and structure. The successful candidate will work closely with our existing metallurgical, engineering and scientific consultants.

The Role:
You will be required to travel worldwide to carry out on-site investigations and prepare expert reports of a high standard for our clients which include insurance and legal organizations and provide expert witness testimony during arbitrations and court hearings.

Qualifications/Requirements:

Degree in metallurgy/materials science. A doctorate would be seen as an advantage.
Competence in technical report writing.
Substantial experience in fatigue/corrosion failure investigations.
An existing client base in the marine, energy and/or industrial power sectors would be seen as an advantage.
